Who are the heroes?
In mormon history, it is easy to look at the sacrifices and contributions of great leaders, like Joseph Smith, Emma Smith, Brigham Young, John Taylor, and so on. They would be the first to remind us, however, that the true strength of mormon history and of the Church today is of the laymen who live the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the gospel of Jesus Christ that can bring about miraculous changes in our lives, and it is by seeing those changes that we can identify so many heroes in the Church. My mother is one of these. Each ward is full of these heroes.
