What Are The CDL Medical Requirements
Commercial vehicles of any type carry valuable and at times even dangerous cargo. Their size and bulk alone make them dangerous, should they go out of control. That is why cdl medical requirements can be quite stringent.
On the whole, a commercial driver’s license will not be granted to an “unhealthy” person, or a person with physical impairments. That means that if you have illnesses like insulin-dependent diabetes, coronary problems, bad eyesight, color blindness, or partial or complete loss of extremities, then you should not bother to apply for a CDL. Mental illness and substance abuse are also included in the terms for disqualification.
Certification of physical fitness is a requirement for any CDL application.
