Types of Tinnitus: What Your Doctor Can and Cannot Hear
Tinnitus, or ringing in the ears as called more often, is a symptom of various ear problems as well as injuries in the neck or head area and other diseases. When the doctor is figuring out ways to treat this problem, they categorize it into two main groups.
There are two main types of tinnitus: Subjective and Objective. The Subjective Tinnitus is basically the kind which is only heard by people suffering from it. This is more difficult to treat because the person must describe what they are hearing very well. The right diagnosis depends highly on this description. The Objective kind is that which can also be perceived or heard by other people, or in this case, the doctor as well.
