The life of a close protection official is not only defined by a chain of nerve-wracking actions and adventures and a rush of adrenaline. There is more to it. Ethics play a very important role in the life of a close protection official or bodyguard. Actually, the sense of ethics helps a bodyguard to perform his job successfully.
As a bodyguard comes very much closer to the events (both official and personal) of the life of the heavyweight person (for whom he is working) he may develop a curious mind seeking to remove the blanket of secrecy over the circumstances of the person’s life. It is quite natural for the close protection officials to develop such an instinct due to their day-to-day familiarity with the happenings of their Principals. Natural it may be but the way they are able to suppress this curious nature is what causes their success in their job. Those who have a sense of ethics and know that infiltrating in one’s life is wrong and unethical will be able cope up with this nature.
